1:1 Landskab has transformed Stærevej in Copenhagen's Nordvest district from a worn-down, slightly oversized street into a special place for the entire neighborhood. A street that brings joy on the way to and from home.

Green transformation of Stærevej

Info

Description

The road profile has been changed, so each side is designed differently, offering its own distinct qualities. The traffic lanes are narrowed, making room for wider sidewalks and vegetation on both sides. On the south side of Stærevej, a strip of angled parking is created, paved with grass-reinforced tiles and dotted with robinia trees that form a light green canopy. On the north side, the sidewalk is bordered from the roadway by a gravel verge planted with higan cherry trees.

A new center in the neighborhood
Stjerneparken takes on an entirely new role: It becomes the center of the neighborhood, extending across both sides of Stærevej and creating beautiful vues in multiple directions. The park’s green and flowering trees are visible from the main roads and all the way down Stærevej. As residents drive through the blooming park, they get a small, uplifting experience home with them.
