Description

A green roof terrace

Nestled in the heart of Copenhagen between the listed buildings at the corner of Ny Østergade and Regnegade, is coming a new exclusive building with ground-floor shops and 18 apartments. The apartments will share a common roof terrace, where the residents can unwind and enjoy the view over the metropolis’ rooftops and spires. The roof terrace will become a lush garden with sheltering trees and bushes that can be seen from the streets below.

Edge bed provides shelter

The roof terrace has been designed as a floor of contiguous sandstone tiles interspersed with spots of greenery. The terrace is divided into small break areas around three roof houses containing two stair turrets and an orangery into which residents can find shelter from the elements. On the street side, a large border of shrubs and perennials provide shelter from the wind, sun and rain.

Ny Østergade in its entirety has been awarded the Store Arne 2021 award, BYGGERI Årets Bolig 2021 award and the Copenhagen Beautification Diploma, as well as nominated for the Mie van der Rohe award.
