Description

Nordic light and design

There is something special about the Nordic sky. It has an incredible intensity that creates the unique Nordic light. The ever-changing tones of grey and blue convey an understated power. Incidentally, one could also describe Nordic design with the same words. 1:1 Landskab created a garden that reflects the kind of uncomplicated aesthetic found in Nordic light and design.

Atmosphere arising from contrasts

Strong contrasts in textures and colours play an important role in the garden, which 1:1 Landskab has designed to create a special atmosphere. The contrasts appear in the form of the dark red spruce forest versus the light willow trees, the dark brick tiles versus the light gravel and the heavy, rustic wall of stacked wood versus the light sky of a glass screen. These contrasts help create a unique garden based on just a few and simple elements that come together to create an extraordinary atmosphere.

The exhibition was selected for the book ‘Ny Agenda - Dansk Landskabsarkitektur 2003- 2008’ (New Agenda - Danish Landscape Architecture 2003-2008).
