The renovation of three school yards and a green area creates new outdoor spaces that can be used actively in daily education and during breaks. New paving and plantings, new outdoor furniture and new functions form a new environment for play and learning. Here spontaneous games and activities as well as scheduled classes and calm breaks are equally important.
The materials used are simple and robust such as burned tiles, wood and concrete which will look even better when they patinate over time.

Small greenhouses and a vegetable garden with raised beds give the students the opportunity to plant and follow the vegetables of the seasons and collect fresh herbs for the school kitchen.

An elongated rainwater basin with various plantings, wooden bridges and stepping stones allow the students to follow the rainwater and learn about plants, stormwater management and sustainability.

New wooden structures and terraces allow for different use such as play, tribunes, recreation and education.
A new play and sports area with painted asphalt gives the students a place to play, do sports and all kinds of physical activities.
An existing green area with dense bushes is opened and a sand-path is established with various wooden play elements, trampolines, outdoor musical instruments and a big climbing and balancing unit.
